What Is a Honeybee Swarm?
Why is this happening?

Swarming is the way honeybee colonies naturally reproduce.  When a family of bees outgrows its home, they make a new queen, then the old queen flies off with half of the colony.  These homeless bees usually gather in a tight cluster on a branch or other convenient (for them) resting place within about 100 yards from the original hive.  They may stay clustered there for anywhere from an hour to several days while scout bees are out searching for a suitable new home.

These swarms may include as many as fifty thousand bees, so watching a swarm cloud of bees descend on your space may cause some anxiety.  Don't worry, swarming bees are the most gentle bees you will ever interact with.  So, give us a call, then stand back and enjoy.  You are witnessing an amazing natural phenomenon.  Your friends are going to love hearing you tell the story.

Honeybee Swarm Relocation

If you have a cluster of bees, we can quickly come and collect them.  These bees get a nice, new home with a local beekeeper who will make sure they survive and thrive, but not in your yard.  This service is absolutely FREE.

Swarm removal/relocation is most of what we do, but we also offer...

Infestation Prevention

If bee swarms are a common occurrence in your space, you may want to host a honeybee rescue station.  This is a box about the size of desktop computer.  It is designed to be exactly the kind of place scout bees are looking for as a new home.  The idea is that the bees will choose to move into this box, rather than taking up residence in your chimney or inside your walls.  Once, the bees move in, just let us know and we'll come over after dusk and move the box, bees and all, to their new home.

This service is also free, however our supply of rescue station boxes is limited.

Hive Removal From Inside

 Structures

We are really comfortable and confident with bees... with carpentry, maybe not quite so much.  If honeybees have established a hive inside a structure, we may be able open the structure and safely remove the bees.  However, we'll probably ask you to take care of the repair, once the bees are gone.  We really would like to offer all of our services for free, but opening a structure and coaxing all of the bees out is a very time-consuming project.  Unless the hive is easily accessible, we'll probably need to charge a reasonable fee.

Please do not attempt to exterminate honeybees.  In addition to bad karma, you'll also end up with many pounds of rotting flesh and honey inside your walls.  This will attract other pests and the stench will be an unpleasant reminder of your mistake for years to come.

Honeybee Rescue

All of our services are live rescue operations.  We are 100% pesticide-free.  Our goal is to protect the bees, serve our community, and foster respect for "humanity's best friend among the insects."
